.416-284
"Cartridges of the World", 9th ed. depicts a .416-284 cartridge developed by M.L.McPherson for use in short action rifles, including lever actions. There is also a .416-06 JDJ (this one must suffer some severe headspacing problems). Does anyone have any experiece with either of these two cartidges?

416-284 will suffer from the same issues as the 10.75x68 Mauser I am afraid. You might want to check out the thread on minimum shoulder for a big bore.
