Rob, after seeing the pix of the .600 ok. Im in love. I am thinking about ordering one but I wanted to know a few things first.
1. How much does it weigh ?

2. I would like a 30 inch barrel with the muzzle brake added onto that. Is that possible??

3. I love the stock so I would want a duplicate of that !

4.Instead of a blued finish could i get the barrel nickel plated? How much would all this cost me?? Thanks alot man..

TS, I do not mean to speak out of turn, but Rob builds rifles for his own use, not as a commercial activity.

However, Ed Plummer of American Hunting Rifles can make the same thing for you for a reasonable price. Just call up and say, "Make me one like Rob's, but with a longer barrel and nickled."

The 600 OK is a new item and Rob's rifle is the prototype (first on this Earth; the previous ones existed only in our dreams), so I don't think you'll find info on the ahr site about it. But Ed will know what you are talking about.

Trapshooter- 500 grs is absolutely right! I don't build rifles for anyone other than myself. I have enough problems and it would detract from my own projects! However, I am completely willing to help anyone build a 600 OK for themselves. I've worked very closely with ED Plumer at AHR and he can build you one. You can use a 30 inch barrel and have it Nickel plated if you want to. It's only a matter of cost! Personally I'd use a granite Mountain Action instead of a CZ550. CH4D makes reloading dies. Brass is a problem, but can be made by any competent machinist or ordered from Horneber in Germany! The GMA action is about $1000 more expensive than a reworked CZ550, but overall has nicer features. I would estimate a 600 OK on a CZ would cost about $3500 and $4500 with a GMA action! Call ED! Tell him I sent You!-Rob

How much does the Granite Arms action cost. Does it come blued and ready to go in the calibre specified, that is, set up to feed for 375 H&H, 416 Rigby or whatever calibre chosen

Mike 375- The GM action costs about $2000-$2500 and comes in the white with a mag box of your selection. You or your gunsmith get to do ALL the machine work necessary for a given cartridge at your cost. Opening Bolt face, widening rails, feed ramp, opening ejection port, and on and on! Talley sight bases need to be machined into the square bridges etc. What you really get is a action machined out of a 8000 series block of steel with a .750 bolt and a capable of holding a 4 inch mag box with a decent trigger and three position safety. This and the Vektor actions are not investment castings like the Montanna PH which is something to think about when 13Kft-lbs of energy is going off near your head! It is a marvelous action for 505 Gibbs/ 585 Nyati/T-rex/600 oK class cartridges. I'd use a CZ550 for everything smaller. Recognizing that similar machine work needs to still be done!-Rob
