What can anyone tell me about the 270 grain Hi-Shok bullet load. Bonded? Who makes it?
Saw some ammo at $25.00/box

I've tried the 300 grain Hi-shock at the range. It was surprisingly accurate, pretty close to my best handloads. Dont know anything about bullet performance though, but its probably better than you might guess.

If I saw some at 25 bucks a box I'd buy 4-5 boxes. Worse case scenario is you use them for practice and have some good cases left over.

For $25 a box (20) I would buy every box you can lay your hands on.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I too have found them quite accurate and they work extreamly well aginst thick skinned hogs... The 375 H&H is about all I shoot these days and the 300gr. Hi-shock is a pretty good round and I believe it to be well made enough to use on any north american game.

The High Shok is not bonded and is simple cup and draw

Not sure, but in the past they sure looked like Hornady Interlock. Now that Hornady dropped the Interlock for 375 cal, Federal is now using Speer Grand Slams

The only thing I found for <$ recently was 300gr PMP SPs @$18.50/box. I looked at sites like Cheaper Than Dirt, Graf & Sons, and Midway and their prices on Federal and Remington loadings are higher then my local shop. Roll Eyes

The 270 HI Shok is a Round Nose Hornady Inter- Lock.
