This was news to me, though they had hinted at it last year when the .338 came out.

Even though the samples they had at the show were rushed through to get in the show they were very nice. [I generally like all Kimbers though!]

The .375 has a classic look with barrel band sling swivel, three leaf rear sights, hooded front ramp sight [no band], double cross bolts, three in the magazine, nice triggers, Model 70 style safety, typical Mauser/model70 action, [I believe this is on their 8400 action].

While the samples were fairly heavy, I estimate the one with the new Leupold Scope to have weighed 10 pounds, maybe a little more, the non-scoped examples were lighter and felt much livelier,[but still a "little" heavy for me] The guys in the booth did say that their goal is to lower the weight some for production guns [mid 2007] probably taking some weight from the butt stock.

As could be expected these are not going to be cheap. I think they said the MSRP will be $3200+/- [so maybe dealer cost should be -30%+/-?].

I expect these will be very nice when they hit full production! They seem confident that they will sell some.

Did anyone one else see these? I think the stocks were laminated but now am spacing out on that, and I can not remember if they had quarter ribs? Anyone?

The stocks are AAA French Walnut with a black ebony forearm tip. They do not have a quarter rib, they have an island base. They also hold four in the magazine and one in the chamber.

I saw/handled them too. Very nice rifle. I think the price is going to put them out of reach for a lot of potential buyers though. Can't see many of my customers paying that but who knows. "Big guns" are getting out of sight. The CZ Safari Classics are retailing from $2700-$2900 this year whereas they were advertised at $1750-$1850 when they were introduced just 2 years ago.

i had one from their custon shop years ago. I was a very fine rifle. Until i sold it, it had accounted for several heads.

Guys, the Kimber is a really nice gun but I think I would rather have a Sako Big Game Deluxe. It comes in both .375 H&H and .416 Remington, holds five in the magazine, is a bunch cheaper and they have modified the bolt face to add CRF!

Back in '02, I inquired about the Sako Safari Grade Model 75 and got a quote in excess of Ten Grand! Price-wise, this rifle made Dakota look like a discount shore bargin.

Has Sako done something with their standard rifle to make it CRF?

Looks nice but too heavy and too expensive IMO. You can get a semi custom built for a few $ more.
