505EDWho uses a 378 and what loads???
What loads and what have you shot with the most hated round in gundom!!!!
Ed
Whatever amount of IMR-7828 it took to get 300-grainers up to just over 2900 fps in a 25" CZ 550 Magnum rechamber was an excellent load for me.
111.0 grains sounds familiar but I would have to check records or do a search here.
I do not know what the vicious recoil rep is all about with the 378 Wby.
To me it is just another .375.

Big Bore Boar HunterTake the muzzle brake off....
The 378 isn't bad if shooting off-hand or kneeling, don't like the blast or shooting in prone though.
The only loads I have fired through it were factory.

<Mike McGuire>The Japanese and German ones with the straw like barrels. As added bonus you only have to look them the wrong way and a shot will jumo 5 inches out if 1 inch group.
115 grains of AR2213SC = H4831SC and 270 grain Hornady averages 3100 f/s..Kangaroo, goat and pig bombing loads.
85 grains AR2208 = Varget and same amount with 225, 270 and 300 grain Hornady. Velocities are from a bit over 2700 to a bit over 2600. All mild pressure reduced loads.

<Mike McGuire>PS. I have chronographed different lots of 378 270 grain ammo and 3080 is about the number. People like 500 Grains and others must get special 378 ammo because it locks the bolt shut. Factory is 100 f/s under what Re 22 will do. Then maybe my 378 ammo is mild because Australis is place where it always snows

What RIP said, 111 grs. 7828 with the 300 TSX.

If a MkV action is sticking, you can bet it is more than a little over pressure.
