CZ Versus CZ USA 458 Lott?
Where are the rifles chambered in 375, 416, & 458 Lott made. It is my understanding that the new Safari Classics (404, 505, etc) are subcontracted out by CZ USA. Is this the case with the 375, 416, & 458 Lott?

My reason for asking is I’d like to know if anyone has had trouble with the feeding of the new 458 Lott rifles. I had one of the old strike-through script re-chambers that did not feed. I am assuming the new Lott’s are not re-chambers and are new production and I’d like to know where they are made.

Thanks for any replies….

Matt V.

Once more for the umpteenth time:

375, 416 and 458 WM come from the factory in the Czech Republic.

The 458Wm is rechambered to the Lott stateside.

The 404, 505 and 450 are just CZ actions with McGowen barrels by the same place doing the re-chambers on the 458 WM.

trophyhunter, there is another thread about problems that a forum member had with a CZ-USA rifle. Note, not a CZ rifle. You have a mixed bag of calibers. The 375 and 416 Rigby are made by CZ and imported by CZ-USA.

Will,

Your response was the exact answer I was looking for. I got a little mixed up on the last CZ thread about the production Vs. import, etc, etc..

I didn’t want to highjack the thread or get lost in the discussion…

Hey, on the curmudgeon we all have our day’s man……

Sincere thanks for the clarification…….

TH5000,

Will is just Will...he assumes that you, like the rest of us, are Totally Knowledgeable about the CZ situation. The one thing you might do in the future; substitute "Old Fart" for curmudgeon.
