Re: Remington Custom Shop .416 Rem
Brian,

I ordered one from the Remington Custom Shop when they first announced the .416 Rem, '88 IIRC. It arrived in due course with some factory ammo I had ordered (softs and solids).

I took it out to shoot. The band swivel mount departed on the first shot, the extractor failed on the third shot. I had it to two gunsmiths for various fixes and improvements before I finally sold it.

I would let this one rest.

You've already expressed reservations; get a CZ.

P.S. If you're not going to hunt with the gun, offer them $500 and leave them your phone number. If the gun is still unsold in three months, they'll probably call you and accept your offer.

Thanks guys for setting me back on the path of righteousness and truth. I vowed to never again own a 700 after the extractor failed on my phenomenally accurate .300 Win Mag. Luckily I was only shooting at a coyote but it easily could have been a trophy mule deer.

when a cz is 700 MAX delivered in 416 rigby, this is not a bargin...

sure the rem MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT shoot smaller groups, but that's PII when you are talking MOA vs 1.24 MOA with a Bigbore at 100 yards

the CZ is a far better deal

now, if it was a win model 70.... ..
