GaryVAupdate M70 416Rem/350TSX
Per Barnes, checked how long a 350TSX needed to be seated out to touch the rifling.
3.800", so there's no way to get w/in .050" while under SAAMI 3.600" max C.O.L..
I settled on trimming the brass to 2.840" then seating to fully grab all of the last groove w/ the Lee Crimp Die. This works out to be 3.590" C.O.L.. I was pleased to find the dummy cartridge I made w/ the 350TSX fed out of the mag box, extracted and ejected as slick as it cycles when empty.
I have
24 pounds surplus USMC4895 from the "loading shack" at Quantico that was used back in '97 at Camp Perry. This particular batch is a bit closer to Varget and 4064 than commercial IMR4895. It will be nice if it works well w/ the 416.
If not, I've got some plain jane over the counter Varget and RL-15 as well. I'm going to work up some loads and send a few of the TSXs down range to see how well they fly.
