SevensThe 411 magnum
I asked the opinion of an old African hunter about what he thought was good all around gun. He gave four recommendations, the 9.3x62, 375 H&H, 416 rem mag, and the 411 magnum. I have never heard of the 411 magnum and was wondering if you guys could shed some light on the subject. He did give me some reloading info on it. The case is a 338 win mag necked up to .411. It seems like a nice caliber. Any info would be much appreciated.

LILEDI'm sure it is the 411 KDf. It is a 338 necked up or a 458 necked down. Good hammer!! Much like a 416 taylor, the only problem is that barnes dropped their .411 dia. bullets. Bullets are limited, go with a 375 or the taylor let the 411 rest I've fought that battle!!!

SCGunNutI have a KDF K-15 in .411 KDF Mag. It is indeed the twin of the .416 Taylor. Run a .458 case into the sizer and you have the .411. Barnes still offers the 300 gr. X and at least one solid. Bullets are also available from Woodleigh, Hawk and several other sources.

Swift A-Frame is offering a .411 bullet as well...
I used it in my 450/400 2 3/8 inches gun (aka 10.3x60R) and it worked well
Good shooting and good hunting
