Re: 577 on a no1
Frankly, while a interesting idea, I find the whole idea of a 577NE on a Ruger number one a really bad concept. This thing will really be BAD from a recoil Management standpoint and a prime candidate for a split stock unless heavily reinforced with accraglass and steel pins. No thanks!I strongly reccomend starting with a .405 win long throat Encore and working up!-Rob

I believe that Hamilton Bowen has been doing some big bore #1s.

POSTED ON THEIR WEB SITE:

"Please note: Due to shortages of certain parts (some now out of production) and the pending retirement of our reboring vendor, we regret to advise that we must decline orders for our rifle work at this time. As events unfold this year, we'll decide whether or not to offer these services again."

Bowen Has lost the main person that did his reboring and that Was Cliff Labounty I was lucky enough to know Cliff personly and have him do a 510 wells for me.. Cliff is retiring but I do believe he is helping the man who bought the equipment to get going on his own.
