New CZ with Fancy Wood

ShowbartNew CZ with Fancy Wood
New CZ 550 416 Rigby with the Fancy Wood option. The wood is even nicer to the naked eye. I had the same in Field Grade awhile back and there was some things NOT to like about the rifle. This however is a different beast all together. While I've yet to shoot it, so it could still prove me wrong (as the 1st one did) this sucker is as tight and well put together as any factory bolt rifle I've seen. Tight AND tight, not a crooked bit on it anywhere so far, and although it's not slicked up it seems as though extra care was taken in regards to turning this (these?) Fancy Wood model out. I'll post a range report ASAP.

ShowbartIt has a much better than the basic setup inside for the stay mated to the front recoil lug, the one that is at the frontmost stock screw. I don't know if it's this way now on all guns but my old one, made less than a year ago, wasn't nearly as good. I'll take a pic and others can say if theirs has the same.

WhitworthThat looks really nice. How much is the fancy wood option over the standard stock?

Jim Z.It is a very nice looking rifle, but for my money, at that price, I would rather have the Ruger RSM. Just my preference.
How come you are selling it? I see it listed in the classifieds.

The rifle is a mates and he has it scoped with CZ rings at the moment.
I suspect he will leave it open sighted once its set with right loads.
Low Talley mounts are another option he is looking at.

Gila JorgeSaw similar wood locally on a CZ 458....but think all CZs should be taken to your gunsmith for glass bedding before ever being shot...heard too many horror stories of ruined wood...just a precaution...and with the fine wood I would be doubly careful...georgous wood indeedy...

pichon1That is indeed a lovely looking piece of wood, is the checkering of equal quality? The reason I ask is that I have 4 Brnos dating from the 1950's to the early 80's, all bar 1 have beautiful Turkish walnut and well executed checkering. The later CZ's that I have seen have poor wood and lousy checkering. Not knocking CZ/Brnos as I am actually very fond of them, just curious.
