Does anyone have one of these guns? Can I cut down 9.3x62 Mauser brass or do I need to buy new brass? Can I use my existing dies? Thanks, I'm looking for a truly mild "thumper."

Or you can ream the chamber to 9.3x62 and download.

I have several. Brass is easy to find or just neck up 8x57. The 9.3x62 brass is larger at the case head than the 9.3x57.

Mine like the 285 grain Prvi Partizan bullets and AA2460.

They are fun guns and Sarco had some nice ones at one time. Most of the good stuff has been picked over pretty good. Try Allan's Armory and simpsonltd.com before you commit. And 8 x 57 brass does work but what I have seems thicker in the web and won't reach the desired velocity without pressure. May just be my lot but 9.3 x 57 Norma brass seems much lighter. Personally, I like the Model 46 best, then the 146 or 640.

Sarco does not have any left on the 98 action and I think only one on a 96. I just bought a 8x57 on a 98. Haven't shot it though.
