CZ's webpage doesn't show a "Safari" just a "Safari Magnum"
http://www.cz-usa.com/_p/p00.php
But when you read the description, they call it the Safari. Maybe it's the same thing - just two different names.

Terry

Safari is the grade and Magnum is for the caliber (and long action). I have a CZ550 Safari magnum in .458 Mag. You have 3 kinds of CZ550 Magnum (standrad grade, lux grade and Safari grade).
A CZ550 Safari is only made for magnum caliber. For me Safari and Safari Magnum is the same.

I don't get it either, I have the CZ 2001 product brochure, and it only lists one model, "safari magnum". She did say that these were last years models...is it just a name change only? I was just wondering if they changed anything but the name? Like still 1 up and 2 down for rear sight, and does it still come with rings? The price is a smoking deal ($654, delivered + tax), but I want to know what I'm buying. I might try to email CZ USA and see what their take is.
Longbob,
Been real busy last couple of months, things are starting to quiet down again, and I'll be posting more often.
Heard back from CZ USA already...
It is as we thought, there is only ONE "safari" rifle, it is the "Safari Magnum". I will pass this back on to my dealer to "educate" the wholesaler, who was going on about not carrying them after this supply is gone due to lack of sales. Maybe if they got their product information straight, they would sell more of them?
Anyone who wants one in the Phoenix metro area, I urge to order through Randall's Sportinggoods. A small dealer with super customer service. $654 plus tax for a CZ 550 Safari Magnum in 416 Rigby is a super deal. It sounds like once these are gone, the price will be higher (?).
