Replacement Stock ?
I've got a .375 H&H Model 70 Classic Stainless and I am wanting to replace the factory POS plastic stock. I have considered a Boyd's JRS, but I want to get the weight down so that I can better carry it around in Alaska (every oz. counts). Seems in the past I've heard good things about McMillan stocks, but I'm unsure of the correct model. G&H or Supergrade? Seems like there is a semi-custom version made for a gunsmith, whose name is only tickling my brain, that might be available? I also haven't decided on type of finish. Advise please. Photos of options appreciated.

If you are going to carry a big stick, you've got to whack someone with it at least every once in while.

You are probably thinking of the Echols Legend stock.

McMillan makes good stocks, as does Brown Precision (the Brown Precision stocks are very lightweight, but strong). Check out their websites for an idea of what they offer.

Mark Basner makes excellent stocks!!!!!!
McMillan makes good stocks but you will have a wait there.
Brown Precision makes them too, but I don't like the designs.
