Height scope ring needed for cz 550
I bought a cz 550 in 505 Gibbs, with a leupold VX-6HD 4-24x52mm scope. What height scope ring do I need for clearance?

Medium at least. Be sure the scope will stand up to the mega-blast.

Honestly, I don't get why people would want such a scope on such a rifle. They will never take advantage of what the scope can do. Why not a low power fixed or a low power variable? Jeez.

Is medium height around an inch?

Sell the sniper scope and get a 1.5-5 or something similar. That way, without a bell, you can mount it low so the stock doesn't some up and whack your face.

Yes, he's at it again. Didn't bother to come back to his original thread, in which everyone else said that big scope was a dumb idea, so why take his bait on this one?

I sight my 500 Jeffery in at 2 1/2" high at 100 yards. It's dead on at 25 yards and 175 yards (right along with your graph). It's a dandy elk rifle out to 300 yards with my 1.5-5x Leupold on it. For longer range hunting I have my 270 Weatherby Mark V shooting 150g Nosler Partitions at 3250 fps

The saddest part about this is that so many younger hunters really are being sucked into the vortex of excessive scope powers and multiples. The makers keep marketing this crap and it would appear the suckers are buying it.

... Which reminds me: has anyone thought about the Zeiss nomenclature of V8 scopes? The obvious puff in that name is that the scopes have 8x multiples - but 1.1-8x, 1.8-14x and 2.8-20x variables suggest they really only manage 7x. I don't care about high multiples, considering the trouble makers have had developing them over the past century, but this subterfuge shows how desperate they are to make big claims.

RIP
The highest I have is a Sightron SiIII 1-7x24mm, Illuminated mildot.
Sightron honesty.
It would be nice on an AR-15 except it is about as long and heavy as the rifle itself.
Not exactly .505 Gibbs material.

Maybe he should put something like a BSA 6-24x scope on it with some nice aluminum rings!I hear you can pick the scopes up really cheap!

This forced me to think about a scope to put on my .585 Hubel Express.

Do you guys think Zeiss 6-24x72 is enough power? Can I 3D print plastic rings or do I need to buy aluminum ones?
