600 Overkill Questions
Like a dumbass I misplaced all my starting load data. I have RL15, H4895, and H335. I also have Trailboss but that stuff is pretty much scoop and plug. Other powders I have I think are too slow H870 or too fast TAC, Benchmark, AA2230 and AA2460.

I am going to try to locate some H4350 tomorrow. Thought I had some........

IMR 4831 works wonderful in my old .600 double. I would imagine it will be fine in the OK.

H-4350 is my go-to powder for the 600 OK. 150 grains will get you approx. 2,050 to 2,100 fps depending on barrel length. That's with a 900 grain bullet. I don't go below 140 grains with H-4350.

The only projectiles I have in house are 825gr CEB NonCons.

H4350 full load should work fine with the 825 gr bullets-Rob

Standard load for my .600 OK is 150 grains of H-4350 behind 900 grain Woodleighs. It chronographed at 2106 FPS at the muzzle with my 13.5 pound rifle, which has a 24" barrel. Recoil, with the X- Brake installed, is less than that of my .505 Gibbs with 600 grain Woodleighs in front of 135 grains of H-4831SC, (no brake on the Gibbs). Without the X-Brake, the recoil from the .600 OK is big, (for me). Cheers. Chip.

I can't find H3450 or IMR4350 locally to save my life.

A4350 is everywhere.

Anyone have experience with A4350?

PWS emailed a copy of the load data I bought with the rifle....Thanks Buddy!

I would like to try 140gr of either H335 or H4895 as I have both.

I may try to find someone to trade powders with locally.

Andy

I used 150gr A4350 behind a 900 gr woodleigh in a 600 nitro but was only getting 1750fps with it. I went to RL15 and 120 grains with a filler to get 1950fps. I have loaded the same 120gr RL15 in my overkill but never cronographed it. It has more recoil but is an 11 lb gun versus the 15 lb nitro.

Andy: I haven't looked at them lately, but I have been using an online broker called "GunBot" to find ammo, primers, brass, powder, etc., with some measure of success. Good luck. Cheers. Chip.

ELeeton to the rescue! Got me a lb from a private club locally. Rewarded with 200 215Match primers for his troubles.

Now about those long-assed CEBs. I love 'em.

But damn that 825gr NonCon is looooong.

I had to use a 37 inch drop-tube with 150gr in order to have enough room to jam the bullet in there.

3.7" oal-.020 shorter than the mag box.

Headed south tomorrow to meet up with Tiggertate and friends. Hopefully I can find some sucker, er, uh.....Brave soul to touch one off.

I would really like to see the .620 NonCon 150-200gr lighter. Then it would be short enough for a Tip!

Andy

The TrailBoss loads were tolerable. However, they were at max. Could probably make more pleasant by dropping charge from 50.5gr to 36gr.

The H4350 load.....I only fired ONE! I have had the self inflicted displeasure of shooting many mega bore rifles as many Bubbas can attest to. That load was BRUTAL! I will be saving those loads for SHTF.

Glad you got load some up and give it try though.
