Well, we can say that the 416 is close to a an ideal, or practical limit for normal, all-range hunting.
I define 'all range hunting' as up to 300 yards as normal and 300-400 as rare (1-5% of shots). Some may justly include the 450 Rigby/460 Weatherby in this all range class. However, the 416 fits in this all range class without a question mark, while the question starts to grow with this later class. Personal choice, as always, has the final say.
