500 Nitro Express loads in A-Square manual
anybody tried the 500-3" NE loads out of the A-square manual with the H-4831? i'm not doubting their data and haven't had any trouble with any other load out of that manual but i just can't wrap myself around that powder being appropriate for that cartridge. by dumb luck, most of the rifle cartridges i still fool with, H4831 is either ideal or at least one of the better powders.

I believe the velocity-for-pressure versus powder charge weight of H4831 versus IMR-4350 shown there.

But: Which one shoots parallel to infinity in your average run-of-the-mill H&H Royal?

Anybody want to swap me a 500 NE Merkel for my 470 NE Merkel?

How much boot do you want?

No doubt the 500 NE 3" is the ultimate double rifle for DG: comfortable at 10.5 pounds carry weight, and a better horsepower to weight ratio than any other DR.

It even comes with a 1:15" twist CIP standard, which is very adequate for 570-grainers, whether monometal banded copper FN or cup&core bullets like the Woodleigh.

I want one.
