MCM300Question about Ed Brown Savanna rifle
I am lookin at an Ed Brown Savanna model in .375 H&H. Does anyone have any experience with the Savanna in .375? Is the weight of 8 lbs. w/o scope about right for the .375.

ROSCOEI have seen a few but never owned or fired any. They appear to be well made rifles using modern manufacturing process. I would think they could be nice rifles if you are looking for a push feed action.

The Ed Brown site
ED Brown CRF states that the Savannas are CRF bolt rifles. This has been discussed b4 on AR & although I've not handled one, from pics I've seen they should be as much a CRF rifle as say Ruger 77. Granted the extractor is tensioned differently to the Ruger & other rifles with mauser style non rotating extractors but looking at the bolt face its my belief that they would control a round from the mag as well as a Ruger or current Win 70. AKAIK the only thing that would prevent this may be some quirk in the way the mag releases the round. I can't comment on this.

LJSI have had two through the years and both shot very very well. I believe the new 704 action is CRF. Prior to this they were push feed. They just took about an $800 price jump which to me makes them too expensive compared to some of the semi customs you can find. If you find a used one that is an earlier action it should be priced around $2200.00 or less if you're lucky.
