Mr. Alphin had a lot of innovative ideas at A-Square and deserves at least partial credit for the great interest in big bore dangerous game cartridges that are out there today. He designed the 470 capstick, the 500 A-Square, the 495 A-Square, the 460 A-Square, and the 577 Tyrannosaur. And he made a business out of turning surplus Enfield military rifles into relatively affordable dangerous game hunting rifles.

The BATF got on A-Square's case for a while and that interfered with management of the company and some promises were not kept. But a new investor/manager is now involved in A-Square and the company seems to have turned the corner and appears to be with us for the long term, for which I am thankful.
