Graeme Wright shows a picture of inside neck reaming some 500 NE cases.

Is this necessary?

That is the last thing I would do unless I had a chamber that required it. I don't understand that unless he was reforming cases from another caliber.

Ray is right. It is only for special situations with old guns with chambers based on the older, thinner brass. Newer guns are chambered for the heavier modern brass.

One could rechamber the heirloom, but that would decrease it's collector value, and negate the proofs. Simpler and safer to ream the new brass to old specs.

Another reason I don't want an heirloom unless someone wants to give it to me, to look at and fondle and sell later, if I can find a fool.

I also posted on the Africa forum with a reference to Wright, page 26, second edition, see the 470 NE thread.
