Mauser Type E
Lots has been discussed around the Lothar Walther 5130 barrel countour - the one that replicates the original "mauser e" profile.

I've seen the barrel drawings, but never seen one on a gun...

Anyone have a picture of one on an action or complete gun?

I would like to see a photo of one on a Mauser too.

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

I am having both a 9.3x62 and a 7x57 built on 1909 Argentine DWM M98 actions. I am using Lothar Walter barrels on both with the type "E" contour. The 9.3x62 should be finished soon (couple of weeks) and I will post a photo when it is done. In the meantime, maybe someone else already has a finished rifle with this contour.

New England Custom Gun has a banded rear sight base that is made to fit this Type E contour. By the way, the "E" stands for English, as the Brit gunmakers and buyers liked to use this profile.

Shumba - does this look like the same contour?

Yes, that seems pretty familiar. Although, it could be just a little bit different.

I will call my gunsmith on Monday to see when it is finally ready, I should have it pretty soon and will post photos as soon as I have it in hand.

Shumba,
Now I know why you are making room in the safe. Smiler

Can't wait to see pics of the new rifles...they sound grand!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
