One thing is for sure the .375 Ruger is superior cartridge to the 9.3x62. Ammo for the Ruger is available in nearly every good shop while 9,3x62 is not and if available in quality form it's great deal more expensive then Hornady Ruger loads.

it's a shame we won't be around in a hundred years to see if any of the ruger cartridges are still around. The X62 is becoming more popular in the US as people discover its versatility and lack of recoil; compared to the 375 ruger.

The 9,3x62 ammunition is readily available in the more well stocked firearms stores in America, moreso than the 375 ruger in many locations.

I was at the Cabela's in Boise, Idaho, yesterday morning. They had TWO more Sabbattis in 45-70 than ruger 375's in stock.

By the way, "Better" is a totally subjective analysis...

Well stated. Better for North American game? Better for European hunting. Better for moose?

That style guns seems more appropriate as a 9.3, but then style and tradition dont seem to be on the agenda. Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate a class act when I saw it and when I dont.

Seems a waste of resources when CZ offers both 375's and 9.3 as factory options, easy enough to just go buy any one of the three. I will agree with one premise, the H&H from CZ is over weight. And, that can be changed too.

To be better it has to spit out bullet of equivalent wt. or more out of equal length barrel with velocity gain of > or = 200fps. I would say the Ruger round is superior to your 9.3x62 or my beloved .350 Remington. The 9.3x62 is becoming more popular as local Gander Mountain carries S&B loads but at $39 per pack. Local BassPro caries 9.3 dies but no ammo. If I had money and time to hunt dangerous game in Africa I would consider neither the 9,3x62 or the .375 Ruger. Both cartridges have same fault of being too powerful for most North American game and not enough punch for really nasty African stuff. I would simply skip over to the .416 magnum practice enough to manage substantial recoil and go with that.

I just liked the idea of trying something different...

If the man is happy with the 375 conversion then good on him. I can't see the point of it myself, but hey, that doesn't matter
