45-70 crimp die to 458Win?
Hi, more thoughts on my 458Win
tried to get a Lee factory crimp die to my 458Win but it seems that they are not made in 458Win. Do you think it is possible to use the 45-70 crimp die to the 458Win?

Sure, just have someone that has a lathe make up a steel collar that will slip over the 458 case and allow the shell holder to close the collet in the 45-70 crimp die. Length of the collar is the difference in case lengths: Subtract the 45-70 case length from the 458 Win case length.

Not more than a month ago I sent a check for $25 and a seated 458Win Mag cartridge to Lee to have a 458WM crimp die made, In a week I got the 458 Die back along with a check for the refund of $13.00, they said it is now a std order from them, give em a call.

I tried making a collar to compensate for the difference in lenght between a 45-70 and a 458, it worked but it was a pain in the neck, the rim on the 45-70 is much widder than the 458
here is there web site http://www.leeprecision.com/
