What are you using for brass and reloading dies? Any favorite loads?

Up here, we're using .348's expanded and blown out, trimmed. Then just neck size. There have been problems with opening to 50-70.

Bill,

I use 348 brass. Prime, load about 10 to 12 grains of Bullseye top off with cornmeal and a wax wad and fire form, trim to length and neck size in a home made die, prime, then 32 grains of 4198 and top off with a 364 grain soft cast .508 diameter bullet, the biggest I can get in the case and still chamber. This combination shoots OK, but my Husqvarna sporter is .515 groove to groove and needs a larger bullet. When I first got it I tried using the Hornady 50 caliber hollow base/hollow point swaged muzzleloader bullet, it shot the best of what I have tried so far, now I need to make a mould but have been sidetracked by other projects.

Hope this helps.

I'll look into reformed .348 from Buffalo Arms. I guess my first order of business is to actually slug the barrel, or better yet, take a chamber cast.
