steve_in_kvilleRuger No. 1 in big-bore: Not a good stock design?
I've been reading both here and on other forums about the poor stock design of the No. 1 on hard-kicking rifles. Is there anything to this, or does it vary from person to person?

Ken ClineStock design is alright, but the factory recoil pad is terrible.

AtkinsonI think it is a fine simple stock design...I believe Brownell designed it..and he was a pretty handy whittler...
Recoil is primarily due to the fact the gun is just too light for the big bore calibers...
