I need some information if anyone can help. I'm looking to trade a Ruger Red Hawk in .44 mag and have been offered a Colt Sauer in 375 mag. Does anybody know the value of these rifles? How about quality or anything else you can tell me about them or a web site where I can find pictures of one? Thanks in advance for any help that might be provided, Bill

usally run between $1000 and $1500 . I used to collect them. The grade #1 is the one I am talking about good wood usally, smooth action
and are usally acurate.

It's probably the safari model if 375 H&H caliber. Looks like a Weatherby Mark 5. High end walnut and very deep bluing. I think they were made from mid 70's to mid 80's in West Germany by J P Sauer & Sohn. I'd swap in a heartbeat.

I have a standard length action 25-06 with 3 and 4 shot magazines. The bolt has 3 wings that open and engage the rear receiver bridge for lockup. I've never seen anything like it. Super slick bolt throw.


The Sauer website might list them as the Model 90, if they still make them.

They are push-feeds, but well-finished. Weatherby used to re-brand Colt Sauer rifles before 1972.

Any time you can get a real rifle (even a push-feed like the Colt Sauer) for a Ruger, go for it.

The Sauer 90 has the smoothest bolt to operate as far as the factory rifles that I have operated are concerned. You should love it if yu shoot it. And if you don't want to keep it for long, I am sure that you would find others interested in buying it from you.

A very well polished up piece with innovative pivoting locking lugs. The .458WM I have examined lacked nothing in the finish department.

The quality of Sauer rifles is topnotch and I would trade for it right now before the other guy realizes what a mistake he is making. I hope some of your luck might rub off on me.

As if you need another opinion but go for it. The rifle is still made by Sauer as the Sauer 90 and they are very expensive today. The Colt-labeled versions are collected by a Colt cult and the prices will always remain good for used guns.

My Uncle ran a Colt in 7 mag, it was one neat rifle. I would be all over that 375 twer it me.

I have a sauer in 375 mag and it is a great rifle. It handels very well and shoots even better. Get the deal made ASAP. I too will give your friend a Ruger 44 for the Sauer if you don't want to - with $3 to boot.
