work ups
I am working up some loads and was wondering how much to add. I started by reducing a load by 10% that gave me 80 grains, next 81.5 then 83 then 84 then 85 and up. Is this enough or should i go by .5 grain increments.

I have always used 1 grain increments.

depends on the round, and how close your pressures are.. .5 grains from 10% down doesn't mean squat for a 500 jeffe or 416 rigby.. but is critical in something like a 35 rem....

it also matters where you are.. at 10% lower, 1% changes are fine... you are looking for pressure signs right?

The round is 375 improved and I have no maximum just loads i got from this forum. They topped out at 88.5 grains. I figured on going to .5 grain increments after 84grains as I approach the load they gave me>

That is exactly what I did with my .375 AI. I found a accurate load before any pressure signs [Big Grin]
2800fps W/300g SP and good accuracy (less than 1") [Wink]
Good luck!!
