Anybody played with 550gr/.458s

Wondering how many have tried the 550gr Woodleigh SP/FMJ, in 458 Lott? What did your crono read with these?

I ran a bunch of 600 Barnes originals through a Lott at 2085 or so and the recoil was a bit more than seemed necessary for my purposes.

I tend to use more than enough gun

I have gotten 2,150 with H-4895 in the Lott. I have also used a load at 2,050. Shot several elephant with both loads as well as one bull buff with the 2,050 load. Excellent penetration and knockdown power with both. Also lotts of recoil.

Will

Working my way up to 2200 fps. Have gotten 2160 fps with 4320 in a 22" barrel and should get 2200 fps w/o any trouble.

Have only shot paper and the breeze!

Bought a packet of WOODLEIGH 550GRN softs for PH Mike Taylor to try on Buff.
He likes the effect..

The 550s recoil a little more but the Lott has so much recoil that a little more isn't too noticeable.

I haven't shot anything with the 500s so it is hard to say. The 550s at 2150 have awesome penetration, both softs and solids.
