RIPRe: Talley rings and peep sight
Form over function? Not me. However, I think the NECG QRW/Maxima set up is pretty enough, and not as bulky as some of the Lyman and Williams uglies that I like for function. The NECG Ruger peep is tiny enough and certainly pretty enough.
The Talley and Brockman peep's are trim, but they have given up the functional edge to be tiny.
A custom slab of steel as installed on JJKack's .458 Lott by Brockman is the best possible iron sight, but there goes the QD scope "neighborhood."

skl1Will,
My last Leupold broke while I was trying to sight it in on the .375 at the range. Plus, I've had heavy rain make my scope unusable. And most of all, okay, I admit it, I prefer to think about what kind of backup sights I want on my rifle than to a) update the junior wrestling webpage, (b) answer my pastor's latest request for more money, or (c) call one of my customers to haggle some more over the 9th version of the 14 page contract we sent them.
I like shooting with peep sights quite a bit more than with standard iron sights.

RIPHunterJim,
Thanks for the correction of my brainfart. John Ricks it was. Nice work he does.
