Winchester rumor!
Sorry if this is the wrong forum topic to post on, but there are rumors and some copies of news articles on some of the other shooting forums that Smith & Wesson executives have been touring the Winchester manufacturing facilities.

Why does this surprise you? S&W is on the come, and They can and could make the licensed Winchesters (Mod's 70 & 94) even better than New Haven did. In the end it is all about money.

Of all the firearm manufacturers, S&W would be one that seems to have a lot of reason te have an interest. They are big enough and do not have much in the line of long guns yet Winchester doesn't have hand guns. Winchester would be a perfect compliment to the S&W line up.

Add to that Smith&Wesson has tried several times to break into the sporting longarms market.... they haven't been particularly successful in their past attempts...

Y'all have alot more faith in Smith & Wesson then I do.I gave up on them a long time ago.Remember all of their recalls.I had mo.#629 that was effected by a recall. Then it was all the different owners and management.
