Best Synthetic Stock for Magnum Mauser?
I have not tried it yet, but imagine a McMillan or even the CZ "Kevlar" stock made by Bell&Carlson could be made to fit.
Sumbuddy who dunnit before?

Please don't tell me that MPI has a Magnum Mauser stock ready to go. Wink

This is the rifle:

The drop of the magazine is mostly a "pocket plate" below the belly of the stock.
Maybe a standard Mauser 98 stock could be made to fit?

Unfortunately, Rip, they do. thumb I had one here recently. It's made for the GMA action, and it has correct size and look for a big, magnum Mauser.

I've not seen photos of it on the website, but it is available.

Here's the stock in question ...

My personal opinion is:

DON'T DO IT MAN ...!!!

Don't Junglefy a pefectly good Magnum Mauser ... Big Grin

Buy another CZ Magnum for 800 bucks or whatever they cost and send it and your MacM stock up to Wayne for the Gastric-Mag-Ramp Surgery ...

If you wanna put that horrid Mauser up for adoption I might know of a good home ... rotflmo

My reply to new_guy on Gunsmithing forum:

MPI again, eh?

More Questions:

With a wooden strip imbedded in the foam of the forend,
to stiffen it?

With a wooden dowel along the bottom of the foam-filled butt to provide something to screw a swivel base into besides the thin fiberglass shell?

Requiring that I epoxy an oak block into the butt in order to have something, besides foam, upon which to mount the recoil pad?

Will the barrel channel and forearm be straight and symetrical this time, or crooked as last time?

Macifej,
So the McMillan will work, eh?
I can order it with proper LOP too, eh?
Will it take six months to get?

I see that "they say" they have some special Mauser stuff there too, should call and ask ...

I'd talk to the McM's and get your questions answered up front. There have been a couple of these stocks for sale here in the classifieds wihout the wait. Think they were for sale outside the US IIRC.

For me - I'd buy a CZ, the McM stock, the US optic SN-4 with their base & rings, and ship the whole mess to Wayne or Tip - have a 470 Mbogo made with the whole thing done in some dirt color ... thumb

Super tough utility bolt cannon ... Big Grin

Does B&C sell this stock as a aftermarket part, or is it just supplied to CZ? Would love one!

IanD,
CZ-USA sells them direct.
I do not see them offered at the B&C website.

CZ-USA American Safari rifles have "Kevlar" added on to their model designations when so equipped.

I gotta agree with Macifej. Although, it is your rifle and your choice, but do the right thing. Don't "mudflap girl" a work of art, please.
