Just getting into the big bores
Fairly new to the big bore affliction and recently purchased a budget conscious Ruger Number 1 in a 450/400 3". Was wondering if anyone had a good recommendation on brass for a reloading project? Thanks in advance

Hornady seems to make good brass for my 458 Lott. I'm sure, if they have 450/400 available it will be good quality.

Welcome to the world of big iron.

Hornady brass will be your best bet, as its quality brass and cheaper..

Jamison is your next option but I know some folks have had problems with the 450-400 Jamison brass, but it may have been corrected, if they get the production problems fixed it will be an excellent buy....

Great purchase! Buy Norma brass and don't ever look back.

Norma brass I shot in my 300 Win Mag the primer holes expaned so it couldn't hold the new primer. So I don't use Norma brass any more.

Information is greatly appreciated and I hope this is just the beginning of my big bore journey.

I recently reloaded some Hornaday 45-70 Lever evolution brass. It was so soft that some of the rims warped when priming the cases. I'm hoping this was the exception rather than the rule.

As for my experience with Hornady brass, I think it must be an exception. I have had zero problems using their .416 Rigby brass and am looking forward to their bringing out .404 Jeffrey brass. I would buy the .450/400 Nitro brass without hesitation.
