Nickel plated .375 Hornady bullets?
A buddy of mine stopped at garage sale and brought me a present, one of which I've never seen before. It was a box if Hornady 300 grain FMJ bullets. They won't attract a magnet, hence no steel jacket, but the jacket appears to be nickel plated. I've never seen these before and the box was factory sealed. Odd.

He also gave me 5 boxes of factory old Winchester/Wester Super X 300 grain Silver Tip factory ammo! He paid $20 for the lot.

I think those were from the turn of the century, custom built pure silver rounds for when the vampire infestation of New Orleans took place jumping Just my guess

I still have two or three boxes of the old Hornady plated solids for the 375 as well. They earned a poor reputation in Africa as they were not tough enough for penetration on elephants and head-on buffalo. they are great for sighting in or for use on softer game.

Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship
