Energy and big holes
If i shoot a elk or a moose whit a .460 wby mag are the hole bigger than if i shoot whit a .458 win mag even if the both bullets expand to the same diameter.

Overkill,
It is the same thing if you compare a hole made by a .45 ACP with same diameter hole with a .454 Casull. Regarding your question the velocity are not the same 2050 fts for a 500 gr bullet with a .458 Win mag and 2500 fts with a 500 gr bullet with a .460 Weatherby.

I have linked a website wich calculate the penetration in CM. You need to fill in some infos before calculate.
http://home.snafu.de/l.moeller/Penetration_Calculator.html

An other website which showed energy and penetration.

Hope this can help you in your quest of big bore cartridges.

Overkill,
The answer isn't quite that simple..The 460 is a better killer than the 458 Win because of the velocity..but the 460 isn't a better killer than a handloaded 458 at 2100 FPS..to get better killing power with big bores after say 2200 or 2300 FPS is achieved requires that you go to 50 caliber...A 45 cal. at 2600 or 2700 has nothing to offer in killing power on big mean animals over the same bullet at 2300..Not so in the smaller calibers on lesser game, where velocity comes into the scenario with a lot more effect..

Expanding bullets hitting at higher velocities do not expand to the same diameter as the same bullet hitting at a lower velocity.

As far as elk or moose, provided you use a suitable bullet, which would be the X bullet, a-frame or woodleigh, I don't think you would see a dramatic difference between the win mag and big W, they would both be dramatic killers with proper shot placement.

I do hope to get to field testing my 500 Jeffrey on moose to see if the old addage about moose not responding to bullet strikes holds true, but it'll be several years before I get a chance to prove or disprove my theory.
