Those are great looking Chuck.

Are the wrists a nit thinner on the Echols stocks. If so , I like that.

Thanks for posting those. Somewhere Allen Day is smiling. Wink

They cut it such that there is no contact as it is not required. It can be bedded and used, of course. The scope bases were made by Michael Scherz. Bottom metal is one piece Oberndorf from PT&G.

Thank you Box. Wonderfully built 416 there.

One more thing, where did the sight come from if you don't mind. I like that style iron sight or only one standing deep V express style sight. I used to be 100 - 200 yard capable with irons but now I need my glasses lol , so 50 is about it for me .

Just to be clear, those aren't mine, but some D'Arcy asked me to post. I do find the wrist of this stock thinner than the super grade. Just a fabulous stock all around.

Can you buy the stocks only?

I also hunt with rifles in these stocks and they are IMO fantastic. As a hunting stock they can't be beat and I've had the opportunity to try most of the synthetic Model 70 offerings.

Yes you can buy those stocks. But they require fitting and finishing such as painting too. Or at least the ones I saw for sale from D"Arcy last did.

Jim Wisner. It is a pre-64 M70 African remake. Beautifully made.
