GS Custom 265gr .375
Hi all,

Anyone hunted with these in a 375? Would appreciate your experiences and feedback.

I suspect they will perform just as well as all GSCustom bullets.

I have not heard any negative reports on their performance.

And the above applies to all bullets made of copper.

They expand like sofas, and penetrate like solids.

Saeed,

Thanks. Some fellow piped-up that they great but the older versions didn't expand reliably.. Not what you want to hear when this is the ammo choice for the primary rifle on a 35 day hunt.
Will put up report when we're done.
Thanks again for hosting one the best resources on the web!

There is no copper made bullet today that will expand 100% of the time.

We have been using the Barnes x and our own Walterhog bullets - turned on a CNC lathe.

I am not what causes them not to expand sometimes, but all do at one time or another.

It never affected their performance on animals though.

Copper bullets get A+ grade in penetration, and a B- in expansion. There is a lot to be said for having two holes to let warm blood out, and cold air in. GS Custom shoot well in my 375 Weatherby. I expect that they would do just as well out of an H&H. Good luck!

The large calliber of GS Customs expand the most reliably. .375 are usually excellent for expansion. I have had trouble with the 7mm and 30 cal GS Customs for unreliable terminal performance. The .375 GSC are usually perfect for expansion say my associates.

I use the 230grain in the 9,3x62. They work very well but I cannot comment on expansion as I never found a bullet.

I have used them in the .375, 9.3x62, 416,450-400 and 404 in Africa and the USA..I like the HV HPs, and the flat nose solids...I can't think of a better bullet and Ive used most all the bullets out there at one time or another. The GS Customs, Woodleighs, North Forks, and Noslers have always been my favorites. You can expect perfect performance on PG and DG from any of them, just pick the recommended bullet weight....
