scope bases and rings- 378 wm.
Any suggestions for good quality looking rings and bases for a 378 wm going on tour to Africa?

Back when I used the .378, I used Redfields, then went to Griffin and Howe. Depends somewhat on whether you want irons readily available. I was using Weaver K-3 or Lyman alaskans, not all the rage we see with big variables now. No experience there.

I would think Tally or Warne would work, but ream the bases for a bigger screw.

You want find a better looking set of rings and bases than Conetol and they will hold your scope in place. They come in many styles and finishes. They are abit hard to install correctly. What I mean is you must work at it to get your vertical reticle vertical because the rings grab on to the scope before you tighten the cone screws in the bases. The cone screws in the bases have windage adjustments. These rings look like they are one piece when actually they are three piece rings. The machineing is that good. I had a friend with a very light weight 300Wby that broke one set of rings off with recoil. I put a set of Conetrols and that fixed his problem.
