CZ 550 Action Screws?
Does anyone know where I can buy higher strength actions screws for the CZ 550 Magnum? My front action screw is bent and I would like to get something other than just a replacement from CZ.

J&P is one supplier: CZ 550 action screws

First question and/or concern I would have is how and why it is bent? Does the bedding need to be redone?

As usual just my $.02

Unfortunately they don't make them for the Magnum action, only the regular 550.

Yeah, the gunsmith who built it didn't bed it at all. I've got a new stock that I will be bedding myself.

If the screw took enough recoil to bend it I'm surprised it didn't split the stock.

That is precisely why I get nervous about some gunsmiths building a rifle for me.

Phil Shoemaker : "I went to a .30-06 on a fine old Mauser action. That worked successfully for a few years until a wounded, vindictive brown bear taught me that precise bullet placement is not always possible in thick alders, at spitting distances and when time is measured in split seconds. Lucky to come out of that lesson alive, I decided to look for a more suitable rifle."

The screw should not be contacting the wood. Properly bed the action and the regular screw will be fine. Dave
