Shot the 375 RUM today
Made it to the range today with the 375 RUM. Fired 6 rounds of factory ammo to get the scope on and 34 rounds I put together. It shot great and with that muzzle brake it was a pussy cat. With 93.6 gr. of H4350 and a 250 Sierra I got a .8" group. With 86 gr. Hunter 300 gr Sierra I got a .5" group. I then did some reduced loads with AA5744, 58 and 61 gr. with 225 Hornady. Two 5 shot 1.5" groups. This is a fun gun to shoot.. I just might have to shoot a Mn. whitetail with it..

TJAY,

Big guns are fun!

If you use it on small animals don't go too light with the bullets. Aren't many that can take 3000-3200 fps or higher. When a bullet blows up ... it makes a terrible mess of the meat Wink

On piggies I've used 300 gr Barnes TSXs with great success ... they just work ... even at a lowly 2600 fps (and you can get a lot more than that from the RUM).

RIP
The 300-grain Swift A-Frame at about 2800 fps blows a nice hole through a buck's chest, minimal meat damage, just a 2" diameter exit hole.

A thusly shot buck, at 50 yards, from a tree stand, with the .375 RUM, tried to keep walking but made it about one step before crumpling.
There was a very short blood and lung trail that extended about 20 feet off to the east side of the northbound deer, but even a blind bushman could have followed it like Braille.

The .375 RUM is a fine deer rifle. thumb
