I can't do that because both action makers are members on this site.

Shootaway,
I have no idea what your comments have to do about Hein rifles and there delivery times.

To follow up my original posting Greg contacted me and told me he will be receiving a second cnc machine and that he would add my 505 Gibbs to the production list now without requiring a deposit pending my approval of my 375 which is expected to be finished soon.
I can live with that. Tells me the man has confidence in his work.

You would be suprised to learn about how many of the best workmen in the industry watch this site. They usually try to stay out of the fray unless someone starts talking out their ass about things they know nothing about. (like $40,000 Echols rifles) But the majority of these gunbuilders have respect for the other top craftsmen in their field and I doubt would be offended if you mentioned who is going to hand build such fine actions.

Snowwolfe, I had heard that Greg and Karl were looking at another machine to help speed up production time. Maybe mine will get done with the same group as yours and we can get together and share a cold one.

Phil: I just spoke with Gregg on the telephone. Real nice conversation. Anyhow, I believe he's ready to start on all the long actions he has firm orders on. jorge

Sounds great. By the way. I respect the articles you write. Top notch stuff in my opinion.

I thought perhaps they were having production or money problems. I have corresponded with them for several years now, and examined one of their actions three years ago at SCI: I commented on AR then that it felt like a bank vault closing.

They emailed me later and asked if I wanted to test a rifle, I of course said yes. We started comparing schedules, and they were to ship the rifle (a .338 UM) after the NRA Convention -- that was NRA '06. I organized the FFL, but to date no rifle and they quit responding to emails. I went along to the next guns in the queue (which are actually here. Wink )

I would like to see them continue to build rifles, especially their single shot.

shootaway, I see on another site that Stuart Satterlee is your chosen builder. I talked with him and looked at his stuff at SCI in Jan and certainly was impressed. He appears to know what he is talking about and his work shows it. Good Choice.
