What bullet would you use in the .375 H&H (Brown Bear)

What bullet would you use in the .375 H&H (Brown Bear)

Especially those of you who have taken a bear, preferably the large Brown Bears of the North... what's the best choice if reloading for this cartridge?

If absolutely pressed to name just one bullet for use in the 375 on Big bears I would say the 270 Barnes TSX because of it's great penetration and expansion. I also like the 285 gr. North Fork and the 300 Swift and Nosler Partitions.

Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship

The NF bullets are hard to beat. I just got back from a plains game hunt where I used the 325 gr in the 416 Rigby. The performance was exemplory. Good Hunting

Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"

300 grain Swift A-Frames on the shoulder, you won't be disappointed.

All noted are good choices...find the one the works for you.

My preference would be for either the North Forks or the Barnes TSX. My choice would be the Barnes 270 grain TSX becuase I used it as a back for Cape Buffalo and Plains Game and it works great and it shoots very tiny groups in my CZ550.

Woodleigh 350 gr. PP
Nosler 300 gr.
Northfork 285 gr.

The 350 gr. Woodleigh will really thump them I assure you of that..

300 grain Nosler Partition - also a great Cape Buffalo bullet.....

I'm sure Barnes makes a 300 gr TSX. For bear I would go with the 300gr before the 270gr. You could not go wrong with fail safes either.

i have shot two brownies, one a 10+footer. Both with TB Bearclaws but I recently just got back from Africa and used the Barnex TSX. Nothing like it for stopping power and accuracy in a 375. Try some.
