What kind of powder is the [somchem] I know it got to be a slow burning powder but I never heard of it. I use IMR4320 for my 458 Lott and I use IMR4350 with my 375 H&H, My 416 Rem Mag I
use RL15.

As requested…please be aware that QL doesn’t seem quite as accurate with straight case cartridges as it is with bottleneck cartridges.

Yes, QL seems to have a lot of problems with the 458 Lott.
In my gun, I have to increase the case volume by 15-20% before QL's mv and the chrono match up.
Another example. I took the max load from a Norwegian reloading manual and tried it in QL. The software predicted pressures of 84-85k psi!
But the manual got those loads from Harald Wolf who had them tested by a proof house in Liege (IIRC).
So the proofhouse says its okay, ie below max pressure of 60-63k
And Ql said 85....

I tend to trust the proof house more.

Have you ever heard of Steves loads. That man has pretty near covered every caliber there is.
He has a web sight and its free to use. I wouldn't start with top load tho.

What is the OAL of your cartridge mate?

It could have a big effect on pressure.

Quickload suggests 79.6 grains of Somchem S341 for 2150 fps at 55Kpsi as the best load with SA powders.

I foundthis, maybe it's of some use to you.
