Got to shoot my .585 Hubel Express today
Well I was finally able to get out to shoot my .585 Hubel Express. I must admit I was alittle nervous about it because the largest rifle I have shot up until today was my .375 H&H. I really had no idea of what to expect from an 11.5 lbs H&R single shot with a 650 gr Woodleigh at 2400 fps. I reviewed the old post on the proper way to shoot heavy kicking rifle, and I have to say It was nowhere near as bad as I expected, I am hooked now. I am taking it in to have it drilled and tapped for a red dot sight then plan on thinning out some pigs. I'll try to post a video of me shooting it and if anyone has any advice on form or anything I would be happy to hear it as I am new to these rifles and would like to learn the proper techniques from the people on this forum with alot of experience.

""I am hooked now""

Once "hooked", no turning back, When you get bolt gun
and zip it out at 2800-3000, the fun really starts.

I weighted the gun for him, and real thick pad.
He's got dies and I sent 2 cases to play with, while waiting
on delivery for the bulk freight order of which he
bought a hundred.

His is gun # 6 out and I have 16 in 12 different styles/makes
here for testing and research...Ed.

I would like to say a big thank you to Ed for all his work and testing of his rifles and cartridges. I have always wanted a real big bore like the .585 but never thought I would be able to afford one, and now I have one. Can't wait for the cases to come in then I can do some accuracy testing and take it after some pigs. Thanks again Ed for all your hard work.

I'm going to have to have one, I promised myself I would not buy anymore guns, this would be a different classification and should be allowed.

Got few others getting singleshots done around the world in 585HE.

one in Pedretti, two in Ruger #1, two in Enfields, a Vulcan and bunch

of bolt gun repeaters in Enfields, a Howa, a BBK, and others.

Guys can do inserts to fire our case for their PTRDs with their

5 ft long barrels, get some real hairy speeds with them. Ed
