<awtc>Why are 416 bullets so much more?
I guess it is supply and demand? I know 470(474) and other calibers are more but with the advent of the 416 Remington and Weatherby and the wildcats...ie Hoffman, Taylor you would think they might com down some. Won't stop me though.

oddballshootersIt is a matter of production runs as a set of dies is expensive to make and the demand is low in comparison to other calibers. People around hear think that I am nuts to shoot pheasants rabbits deer coyotes prairie dogs ect with my 416 and I can only shoot about 8 off a bench before having enough. Don't look for them to cone down in price.

TGetzenAre they really more though? I don't think any big bore caliber is more commonly encountered than .458, and most of the 416 bullets are no different in price per 50. You can get fooled, because a lot of manufacturers (but not Hornady) go to boxes of TWENTY over 416 caliber, and the price looks a lot cheaper until you figure out that you're getting ~60% fewer bullets. But when you figure out the price per bullet, it's not that much different than buying 416's in lots of 50.
Good Shooting,
