RIPI saw one of their 600 NE bolt actions at Great Northern Guns in Anchorage, Alaska. Amazing. And amazingly heavy.

Erik FrymanThat rifle is still at Great Northern Guns, I think they want $5500.00. I did not think it was that heavy, at least considering the caliber it shoots. Wouldn't want to carry it around all day though

MARK H. YOUNGTHIS DOESN'T ANSWER THE QUESTION BUT I TOO SAW THE 600 NITRO AT GREAT NORTHERN GUNS. IT LOOKED SO MUCH LIKE A TRUCK AXLE THAT I DIDN'T EVEN HANDLE IT. I WOULD IMAGINE THAT THE SMALLER CALIBERS AND EVEN THE 505 WOULD BE MUCH TRIMMER.

NitromanI was at GNG this past Christmas break when doing shopping with the wife before heading out to Bethel. I looked at everything on the racks as this is one of the four gunshops my wife actually likes to go in and browse. I must have mistaken it for a shotgun otherwise I'd've been all over it.
Mark, that is one truck axle that'll rock your world though.

Eric,
Are you still shooting your 470 NE pistol? I gotta shoot that thing one of these days.
I must have missed the 600 NE as well, will have to look for it next time I'm in there.

MARK H. YOUNGRoger,
The 375's through 458's rock me enough thank you.

Erik FrymanPaul,
I'm still shooting the 470 NE. I just made a new handgrip and forend for it in some nice english walnut, so I'll bring it out one of these days and give it a try again. Got my 600 Overkill dies and barrel today as well. Hopefully I'll have it ready to shoot in a couple of months. Plan on trying it without a brake first, you are welcome to come and help me get it broken in

Paul HEric,
My 500 Jeffrey barreled action is completed, and testfired, just waiting for it to get shipped up here. I still need to order dies, but was able to seat some bullets using a modified set of 50/70 dies. Sounds like plenty of big bores in town

RMillerThe price I saw on the .600 at great northern guns was 6995.
The rifle is huge the barrel must be almost 2 inches in dia. or at least it seemed that way.
I think I'd have a pretty rough time trying to swing it on a moving target but I did like the big white bead on the front sight.

<glock20rocks>A .470 NE *PISTOL!?!? Holy crap! I think I'd top out at the .500 Linebaugh Long Max...
I assume it's a single shot...
Got any pics of that monster?

Erik FrymanGlock,
It's an Encore with a 15" Virgin Valley Guns barrel. It is not too bad too shoot, you just have to hold on to it when you pull the trigger. Have actually managed to shoot a couple of groups under 1" at 100 yds, so it is plenty accurate.

<Kenai Capt>Eric,
I was wondering if you still had the .470; I saw on classifieds that you got rid of a bunch of Federal nickel cases. Are you still loading for it?
