Leupold Quick Release Rings
For those of you using Leupold QRW rings on cross slot bases, check the top, front edge of the slots for impact damage from the round cross bolt. My .416 Rem took less than 20 rounds to ruin the bases. Leupold's service department responded quickly with new rings and bases. They are now using a square steel cross bolt which should provide solid contact in the slot. This prompted me to check my .340 Weatherby also, several hundred rounds, less damage, but still on there way back to Leupold.

How do the Leupold QRW bases compare to the steel Weaver Grand Slam bases? Are they identical?
