RhysWhich one next?
I've been running a standard .375 H&H for the past couple years, and I've had it crawling around in the back of my mind to build myself a heavy. I've got another .375 length Montana 1999 sitting here that is looking awfly lonely. I have it narrowed down to basicaly 4 chamberings. What are your thoughts?
.458 Lott - most pratical from the build standpoint as I already have the reamer, and no action mods would need to be done.
470 Capstick - easy from the build standpoint just a bit different in that you don't see them that often.
.500 Jeffrey - This is just a classic, it has soul. Like the other calibers I hunt with currently it hovering toward the century mark. I know there can be some feeding issues that have to be worked out, but making it work is half the fun of the build. I see this one as a challenge.
550 Express - Simply it's about as big as I can go on this action.

fourboreI have no idea what would suite you, but I would enjoy hearing and seeing your effort around a 550 express.
Which 550 would that be a Gibbs or Weatherby based round?

Idaho Sharpshooterthe little one...
although I do not see how you are going to fit a 550 Wbee in their either. Perhaps the 550 of Jeffe's?

458WinThings been getting away from you after you shoot them with the 375?
The Lott is the most practical but the Jeffery does have it's appeal as well.

RhysNothing has gotten away from the .375, probably just cursed myself there. Just want to do a heavy because I can. The .550 I'm thinking of is Jeffe's.

BuliwyfThe .500 Jeffery all the way. I prefer the sharper shoulder of the 12.7x70 Schuler Jumbo but either way I would build the .500
