N E 450 No2Blaser Safari Double Rifle
I have had the oppertunity to handle 2 different Blaser double rifles, both 470's. I must admit they handled and felt good. The sights were perfectly aligned when the rifles were shouldered.
I could live with the manual cocking system, on this rifle or the Krieghoff....but when you break open the rifle it automatically uncocks, with a loud click. Pity. For the price it would be a nice rifle. Also this is one rifle that just might hold up to 375 H&H pressures, as the locking mechanism is the same as on the single shot K 95. The double takes the same scope mount as all ther other rifles, which is a big plus in my book. It comes in a very nice aluminium hard case that has room for 2 sets of rifle bbls, 2 scopes, and a set of shotgun bbls.
This store has sold both of these rifles so maybe I will be able to get some feed back on how well the free float bbl system shoots.
One think I should mention is that the bottom bbl rib is a piece of rubber. Obivously there for cosmetic reasons. "NEW TECHNOLOGY" for sure.

MikelravyBlaser rifles seem to appeal to those buyers looking for something new and diferent. I suspect that many, if not most, double rifle buyers like the look and feel of classic British rifles. Too bad someone hasn't found a way to produce such a rifle at a really attractive price.

500grainsIs it hard to reach under that shroud thing to take the empties out of the Sig double?

Heritage ArmsThere is really nothing wrong with the R93 Johan. But in the case of the S2, I hate to say it but we agree on something.
500 grs, yes it is tough without ejectors to grab the emptiies with that hood hanging over. It is just a great big mess, the whole gun.

N E 450 No2Gentlemen, relax.... I never said I was going to buy a Blaser Double. I was mearly reporting what I had seen. I still like British Doubles best.
Of the new made doubles I prefer the Chapuis.
Aleko has a neat set up at his store, a Chapuis 470 with a set of 12ga. bbls. Most other doubles can only be had with 20ga. bbls.
