Finally something that will out perform my 45-70 !!

Actually not too bad for recoil with 26 lbs.Without leaning into it it would knock you on your butt !

MacifejNice work and HUGE fun.

Their "HOT" load is 16 drams or one ounce of BP. That's about 300 grains light of someone elses design. What's with the 2500 grain (3 bore) slug in a 2-Bore??
Anyone see the full article that might state the actual bore & groove??

buckeyeshooterwhat is

with the sissy pad???

MacifejThe HOT load recoil calcs out about the same as Saeed's T-REX.
It's a falling block side lock!!

WhitworthThat's great! The instructor says to the first shooter: "Lean ridiculously far forward"! That's funny!

DoglegShouldn't a 2 gauge round ball weigh 3500 grains? I'd like to see recoil with the "real" loads.

MacifejNot ported that I can see when I blew up the photos in the print article.
It's not a True 2-Bore. It's bore diameter is 1.052" which is precisely a 4-Bore and it is built on a 4-Bore action. A 2-Bore in name only.
It's taken them 11 years to get the thing to this point and they haven't done the engraving yet! WOW!! (They started building it in 1997)

K20350Is there anywhere you can see any clear pics of this wonderful creation.

bigdoggy700Macifej,
Does the article say what the velocity was of their 16 dram loaded shots?? or the velocity of the 12 dram loads? thanks
06 June 2008, 13:05
MacifejNot that I recall but let me check again. Hold the phone boyz....

MacifejSays the "service load" has a Taylor K.O. of 700 which is a 3000 grain lead slug over 20 drams of Curtis & Harvey #6 Powder.
I'll translate:
20 drams = 550 grains
700 K.O. = 1550fps
The thing is apparently an adaptation of an English Harpoon Gun.
